How does Longford Management screen tenants?

What happens if my application is denied?

We will notify you by email, and TransUnion will provide detailed screening results.


How long does the background screening take?

Screenings typically take about 48 hours but can take longer in some jurisdictions.


If I previously passed a background check, do I need to do it again?

If approved within the last 30 days, you don't need to repeat the screening. After 30 days, you must reapply.


What information is included in the background and credit screening?

We rely on TransUnion for credit and criminal background checks. Refer to our qualification requirements for more information.


How do I apply to lease a home?

Click the “Apply” button on the home’s listing page, create an application account, and pay the non-refundable application fee. Complete the application in less than 10 minutes and save it to finish later. Review our qualification requirements before applying.


How much is the application fee?

The non-refundable application fee is $60 per person over 18 (may vary by location). Roommate information is required in the application.


Is the application fee refundable?

No, the application fee is non-refundable as it covers background checks, application review, and other expenses.


How long does it take to process an application?

Processing usually takes up to 2 days. You will receive emails requesting any additional information needed.


What happens once my application is approved?

Upon approval, you have 48 hours to proceed with your lease agreement. Different options are available for "Coming Soon" and available homes.


How do I upload proof of income documents?

Download the required document from your financial institution or payroll provider’s website and upload it to your application. We do not accept scanned PDFs or altered documents.


Can I make changes to my application after submission?

Changes can be made by working with your leasing professional. Ensure all information is accurate before submitting to avoid delays.


Can I transfer my application to another Longford Management home?

Yes, under certain circumstances. Contact your leasing professional for details.


Can I apply for a home before it is available?

Yes, you can apply for "Coming Soon" homes and secure them by paying a hold fee once approved.


How will my application information be used?

We use your information to process your application, including credit and background screening. We will communicate via the email provided in your application.


Can I visit an office to fill out an application?

We recommend applying online. If needed, discuss alternatives with your leasing professional.
