Full Building Exclusion – What to Expect & How to Prepare

Overview

A full building exclusion is a preventive service that seals pest entry points and places protective barriers around the property. This work may also include traps to ensure any pests still inside are captured.

Why Exclusion Is Needed

  • Rodents and pests can cause property damage and health risks.
  • Exclusion closes gaps around walls, pipes, vents, and doors.
  • Preventive measures reduce the need for repeated chemical treatments.

Materials Used

Our technicians use professional-grade materials designed to block pests long-term:

  • Steel wool – blocks small rodent entry points
  • Caulk – seals cracks around trim and fixtures
  • Concrete caulk – for masonry and foundation gaps
  • Pest-retardant foam – fills voids and resists rodent chewing
  • Other barrier materials – applied as needed for different surfaces

Traps:

  • Mouse traps may be placed in certain units
  • These are intended to capture any pests still inside after sealing work
  • If a trap catches something and you are not comfortable discarding it, please notify us immediately — our service team will take care of removal during normal business hours
    • This is not an emergency matter but we will do our best to prioritize

How Residents Should Prepare

  1. Clear access areas – Move items away from baseboards, under sinks, and utility areas
  2. Secure food – Store food in sealed containers or cabinets
  3. Pets – Keep pets in a separate safe space while technicians work
  4. Unit access – Ensure technicians can enter your unit at the scheduled time
  5. Noise & movement – Expect some disruption in hallways and utility spaces

Safety Information

  • All materials are safe for residential environments
  • Work involves mostly sealing and repairs, not widespread chemical use
  • You may remain in your unit during service
